2004-05-01 Imperial Guard Heavy Sentinel

The first days of construction have been great. I started by mounting the Leman Russ Turrets. First I trimmed the molded roll bars. When I fitted the turret I found the box bracket on the left side of the sentinel driver cockpit to get in the way so I trimmed it off.

I next glued the bits frame as a support to hold up the turret. I latter found a more viable but not pretty solution. Since I do not have a good picture I will have to explaining that I still used the support frame of the glued bits but to stabilize the whole thing I pushed epoxy into the space between the turret and sentinel cab. The result when dried was covered by custom cut Plasticard.

The local hobby shop does not carry the plastic cardstock and I was in to much of a hurry to wait to get to Hobby Lobby to see if they have any. I have decided to use old credit card stock. The recycled cards seem to work well but not as scientific as .28mm. Once this is primed you won’t even be able to see the barcodes.

I have backfilled the area around the front of the Sentinel to help stabilize the card on the front as seen here.
