2004-05-21 Imperial Guard Heavy Sentinel

I have continued work on the sentinel. Not pictured is the work I did on the other two in the squad. After test fitting the front missile launcher several times I trimmed the alignment notches allowing the piece to fit snuggly against the plasticard insert.



After working with the Dread Missle launcher for some time and not liking the fit I custom cut two pieces to tighten the look. See the pieces on either side of the gun barrel mount on the turret?

The final look was more to my satisfaction.



I then glued the lascannons shield form the Land Raider. After looking a long time and not knowing yet if I made the right choice I glued the shielding flush with the bottom of the turret. After closer examination I realized I have made a mistake. I will not be able to use the large wheel from the Leman Russ but am working on a small wheel to fit instead. It actually looks good but still working on it.





I then backfilled the under side of the sentinel with some epoxy and then covered it by putting the exhaust cover over the top. Sorry about the pictures.
