2004-11-15 Imperial Guard Heavy Sentinel

I had a minor set back yesterday. When trying to piece the model together for appearance I broke one of the hip rods. For a test I gently broke off the other one. What a weak spot. I have drilled a 3/8 hole through the hip and into the leg. I was able to get a 3/8" copper rod to stick through the hip for a replacement for and much better support. Sorry no pictures I was in such a hurry to fix this I forgot the pictures of the repairs.

I have finally received my Epic scale Warlord Titan last Friday. I know I just needed the feet but in GW marketing wisdom you can no longer just order the feet. I have glued the feet to a prepared base. Earlier I had glued loose gravel I will be painting in the future.

I stared at the feet all evening Friday and Saturday and did not like the way they connected. The foot of the warlord Titan just has a hole to receive the leg. The sentinel has a clasp on the foot so it is like a coupling receiving the ball of the leg. When I put the ball of the leg on the receiving hole of the titan foot it looked odd, in fact I disliked it all together. I have fixed this and it really looks good at the initial look, no gluing yet.

I have cut the toes of the sentinel feet just leaving a ring and the connector on top.

Lucky for me (I actually eye balled it several times before cutting) the ring of the sentinel foot is exactly the same size as the top of the Titan foot. With the elevation of the ring being on top of the titan foot looks beefier which is the look I am going for.

Here is the cut piece glued to the titan foot. Here are the legs standing in the feet, overall not a bad appearance.
